Default why no charging strike?

anyone can see the value of this skill in pve...constant running makes travel easier...

but what about in pvp? I havent seen this skil used much... why not?

lets take a look at some comparison

[card]eviscerate[/card] [card]sprint[/card] [card]frenzy[/card]

[card]charging strike[/card] [card]dismember[/card] [card]flail[/card]

wouldnt the second be a better choice...?

if not why?

2nd choice requires you to charge adrenaline to activate flail and dismember. Hence it's problem.

With the first one you can activate Frenzy then cancel with Sprint.

Plus ofcourse, the end on attack/skill usage.
It's spammable enough, however if you use an attack skill with it; the attack skill takes place not the charging strike (if this wouldn't take place it'd be excellent imo)

you can test this by using charging strike + protectors strike on a running target. then try with protector's strike only (same damage).

tough luck.

*ps, another reason might be the high energy cost and wasting an elite skill on it.

I wouldn't waste my elite on that in PvP..

I'd choose these over it..
[card]Eviscerate[/card]
[card]Dragon Slash[/card]
[card]Shadow Prison[/card]
[card]"You're All Alone!"[/card]
[card]Bull's Charge[/card]

Reasons I wouldn't consider using that skill:

- It's an elite. If it wasn't, it may fit into certain builds.

- It basically translates into either a poor running skill or a poor attack skill. It's not even codedly an attack skill, so it doesn't benefit from Strength. It's just... +30-40ish damage to your next attack, for 5 energy.

- Enraging Charge is simply better, unless you're running a non-adrenaline build for some obscure reason.

- Did I mention that it's an elite?

but my point is....you can dish out more damage quicker with charging strike and dismember...than with evicerate...and sprint...why do people always choose evicerate as a prefered elite?? charging strike basically combines +damage and increased speed... wich is completely spammable...

at 16 axe and ony 10 strength they do pretty much the same +damage...

but you can use it quicker and more often than evisc/sprint...

....so what if it costs energy...most warrior builds dont have a lot of energy skills in the bar anyway...

....so what if its not coded as an attack?, the +damage is fine without it...

...so what if you have to wait one swing before you use your next skill in the chain?...minor problem in my opinion..

over all its seems like a better set up than evicerate/sprint

Charging Strike ends once you activate an attack skill, rendering the +xx damage it promises useless. So it leaves it as only a mean to catch up to targets and to cancel Frenzy.

Just tested it to strengthen my statement above.

Sure, the Charging Strike+Dismember does slightly more damage. Although, the spike is longer compared to Eviscerate's. In addition, you also give the opposing monk a sign that that target is going to be spiked.

I would rather keep it on a Sword build that has a Zealous Sword Hilt. Wasting 5 energy every 5 seconds isn't something I'm fond of.

I personally only use charging strike in AB
Seems a waste of elite for other pvp activities...
